Palacio de Telecomunicaciones
Palacio de Comunicaciones (known since 2011 Palacio de Cibeles) is an integrated set of two white buildings located in one of the centers of historic Madrid. The set is from the point of view of Spanish architecture one of the first examples of modernist architecture, and more representative, erected in the center of Madrid. The building, by municipal contest, was designed by young Spanish architects Antonio Palacios and Joaquín Otamendi to host the Post and Telegraph Company of Spain. In 1993 he was declared a Cultural Monument category. Finally at the beginning of the XXI century is incorporated to the municipality and finally transformed into a cultural center and town hall in Madrid. It becomes early twenty-first century "Communications Palace" in the new town hall in Madrid, and in doing so changes its name to "Palacio de Cibeles".
After six years of remodeling the interior, the architects responsible Latorre David Marquez, Angel Martinez Diaz, Francisco Martínez Díez and Francisco Rodriguez Partearroyo, components of the "Study Arquimática" for public tender by the City Council, the November 23, 2009 produces the official opening of the building with the presence of the Kings of Spain. The March 30, 2011 works were completed and opened to the public to visit. Opens inside an exhibition space called "CentroCentro", this space is incorporated with a pair of exhibition halls and an auditorium with capacity for a little over three hundred people.
