Austrias Tour

This zone corresponds to the primitive medieval streets of the city and urban expansion initiated by the House of Austria, from the reigns of Charles I and, especially, of Philip II, who established the Court in Madrid in the mid-sixteenth century. On this route we find the monumental of much of the administrative districts and Sun Palace. We talked about the areas of influence of the Mayor streets, Arenal, Segovia, San Francisco race, Bailén and Toledo and Barley squares of the Straw, Mayor, Puerta del Sol and the East, where there are neighborhoods and areas without administrative entity, such as La Latina, Opera or Vistillas. Here are both monuments built in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, when Spain reigned in the Habsburg dynasty, as in earlier and later periods, as the case of the medieval churches of St. Nicholas of Servite and St. Peter the Elder, the XII and XIV, respectively, and the Royal Palace, built in the eighteenth century. Monuments are also promoted by the Austrians to neighborhoods outside and Sun Palace. Some examples are the Hall of Realms and the Cason del Buen Retiro, which formed part of the Buen Retiro Palace disappeared, and the gardens homonyms.
