Wine tourism, novel booming tourist activity that allows to know one of the great riches of our land: the fruit of the grape, which are prepared with fine wines. Spain has one of the largest winemaking heritage. This plus the fact that there are wineries that are true works of art of current architecture, these routes will not want to miss something. We propose these wineries.
Portia Winery
Designed by Norman Foster. Faustino belongs to
the group and is located in Burgos, in the heart of the Ribera del
Duero. The highlight of this building is that all are functional
spaces created. Built with materials neat order. Its structure is
made of concrete, wood, steel and glass. Composed of 12,500 meters
on three floors organized a star in your arms are the different
areas of wine making, fermentation and aging. In the center of the
building is the hopper receiving the grapes that have been
previously collected, and also acts as a focal point and place
where the shop, tasting room, auditorium, meeting rooms and
cafeteria.
The winery offers tours and wine
tasting sessions.

Viña Cuerva Winery
Located in the heart of La Mancha, in Carrion de Calatrava (Ciudad Real). Bodega designed and executed by Leon Bernalte & Associates. This winery is a small winery intervention in an enclosure consolidated over time. Retrieves a vacuum creating aging cellar. Take the mass of the space created to install the barrels, and wraps with ground organic shell and reed from the vineyards, all coated inside with stainless. We observe a buried gallery that rotates to save the only tree that exists in the space of the hold and allowing the connection to the bottling hall.
Bodegas Marqués de Riscal
(Elciego, Álava) designed by Frank O. Gehry is a building full of shapes perfectly created in tune with the landscape of the area. The building is covered in titanium, although in this case unlike the Guggenheim Museum, the architect wanted to infuse his work with the representative colors of Marqués de Riscal: pink, like red wine, gold, as the mesh Riscal bottles, and silver, as the cap of the bottle.
Bodegas Ysios
Located in La Guardia (Alava), designed by Santiago Calatrava. Conceived as a temple dedicated to wine, opened in 2001 and became the "cellar author" pioneer in Rioja, ushering in a stream of avant-garde wineries construction continues today. A single piece unique and perfectly integrated into the environment. The cover is a key element in the design of the project, is clad in natural aluminum. The metal contrasts with the warmth of the facade, covered with sheets of cedar cuperizada, the only one with sufficient flexibility to allow for shaping devised by the architect. Its construction involved an architectural landmark and today is symbolic landscape in the environment. Furthermore, the Bodegas Ysios is functional and is designed to produce wines of the highest quality. Its linear design process ensures the best production of its wines.
Viña Real
Winery
(Laguardia, Álava), This
winery, designed by Philippe Mazieres, commitment to innovation and
experimentation, two pillars of the company Viña Real.
The tub-shaped building is the heart of the winery and houses the
fermentation room where the wine rests. It also has a wooden
construction "Red Cedar" red cedar from Canada and two huge tunnels
drilled into the rock of the hill, which conducts aging of wine.
The tub is attached to the bottling line, the building of the
Canadian Red Cedar and two tunnels inside the mountain. This tub is
divided into two floors, on the top is the winemaking craft that
uses the latest technology: a hopper and a spectacular crane
vertically center, and the lower floor is located round the barrel
room.
